What this is: An ingenious, fast storyselling ad for Opal, a screen time reduction app.
Why it matters: This ad needs to go in your swipe file right this second. There’s a drive with short form to create “ugc” ads that look like regular content - instead this ad takes a high concept approach to brilliant success.
Lessons you can apply to your content:
- Focus on the story and your big idea. And make your big idea, bigger. Nail that down before you shoot anything
- quick cuts are winning cuts. Hold a shot just as long as it needs to be effective, then move to the next.
- don’t just rely on boring stock footage, plus archival clips & add motion to images for an explosive feel
- Think outside the box with your UGC. Opal purchased the rights to use this piece of content as an ad. The original can be found here.

What this is: Jitter, a popular motion graphics tool, has the ability to directly copy paste Figma graphics into its video timeline.
Why it matters: For content teams, collaborating between design & video teams can be a nightmare. This copy/paste feature makes it super easy for the motion animators to take existing on-brand design materials and use them for videos.
Takeaways for you: Try Jitter if you want smoother workflows between graphics & video editors for ads/content.

What this is: Asking people to subscribe to your YT channel makes a massive difference in whether or not they actually click the button.
Why it matters: Little asks add up. And yes, sometimes it feels stupid. But remember, YouTube is a long game. The more you ask, the more you receive.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
