This is the definitive guide to video content ideation. Pick your favorite of these 3 methods & start pumping out content.

Before you do this…

Be sure you crystalize your goal with content. Are you trying to get more booked calls for your agency? Grow your following? Meet hot singles in your area?

Whatever it is, keep that top of mind through the whole process.

1. The 10×10 Grid

Write out the 10 topic you like talking about & have a skill in.

ex: Editing Videos, Video Strategy

Then, under each of those, write out 10 subtopics or aspects of that main topic.

ex: Editing Content → Cutting, Color Correction, Captions etc.

Fill out this grid, and how you have 100 topics to talk about.

2. Ask your audience

Sometimes the simplest way is the best way.

DM your most engaged followers. Ask them what the follow you for & why. Get on the phone with them.

Figure out pain points. Note their language. Really get a sense of how you can help them.

Screenshot the questions people ask you in the comments.

The more you know your audience = the more you’ll resonate

3. The Mock Interview

First, break down your entire system into a few topics.

ex: Planning, Shooting, Editing, Marketing

Then, break those buckets down into sub topics (sound familiar huh?)

Next, pretend you’re sitting across from your ideal client. They’re interested in your offering, but clueless on what you do.

Next, create a logical train of questions which you can answer with your expertise. Do not skip a step or make a logical jump.

This will give you an insane amount of fleshed out content ideas.

Plus, it will help you reconnect with those super basic concepts you’ve mastered and forgot…but your audience NEEDS.
